BG414616934 Theissue would be the clip point, My guess is that you would get better results with the 24 Volt supply, especially if you added a large 10,000 to 20,000 micro-farad stiffening capacitor. But certainly there's no reason not to try both ways.

Q: Is this a full kit with all parts to make a working clock, Kind regards Paul

BG414616934 All parts are included except the backup battery (coin cell). Keep in mind that some versions require surface mount soldering, while other versions only require mechanical assembly.

BG414616934 I believe the backup battery is not included, but everything else is. Keep in mind there's both versions that need soldering and versions that do not.

BG414616934 You will not be connecting them in series. You are correct, 3s, 4s, and 5S is for the number of cells. If you order the wrong one you will need to rearrange jumper settings, so best to get the version for the number of cells you wish to use. Protection is not provides under all circumstances, so be sure to print out the info and read it carefully. Very sophisticated, but the makes it more complicated to configure and use. I would rate it as a medium complexity project, not a beginner project.
