The soldering tweezers do the job well. Though, I noticed 2 issues in the design: 1. Meter scale is highly inaccurate. Temperatures are as much as 50C away from the scale value. The "CAL." adjuster only allows minor correction. 2. The difference in temperature between the tweezer tips was measured at about 30C. There appears no way to correct for that. Despite the design issues, it does get the job done. If you need precision temperature adjustment, you will need to look elsewhere.

The minimum (stop) voltage is programmable in 0.1V increments. When started, the rig will continue to drain the battery until the "stop" voltage is reached, ending the test. It's a basic tool. It will drain the 18650 battery with a resistive load of about 300 - 400mA. Would have been even better if the drain current was adjustable, never-the-less a useful device that you can leave running unattended. On return, you have useful results captured. The resistive load was measured at a temperature of 57C, so allow some ventilation. The rig is an open design, with PCB and all it's components exposed. I would like to see the rig mounted in a case, perhaps leaving the resistive load open to the air. I can see a custom 3D printed case printed in PETG or ABS conceivable for the future. Order arrived in Sydney after 16 days.

A useful tool. The user interface is reasonable. When you get into it, there's an incredible amount of information incorporated in the meter. To move around the screens, there's these tiny K1 and K2 switches. A design improvement would be to make these switches bigger. I successfully connected my meter to my Android phone, but so far have been unable to pair it with my PC nor my Apple phone, which are my preferred devices.

A simple circuit that does vary voltage, as specified, but need to limit load to under 1KW to avoid overheating. There is a noticeable audible buzz that is emitted by the circuit board (detected on all the boards purchased) that will be heard in a quiet room.

I've had a good look at the hot air wand and the associated power unit. As it comes, there are a number of issues I came across, but the unit has the makings of something better, so I will persevere with it. Issues: - IEC connector connection was poor, causing intermittent disconnection of power. - Temperature setting significantly out from actual temperature - Slow to heat - Slow to cool down Through a hole on the side of the power unit, there is an accessible inside control (trimpot) that you can adjust. I was able to significantly improve the measured temperature to make it more meaningful. To note, I accurately measured the temperature at 10mm from the nozzle (narrowest nozzle) at an air speed setting of "F10". The maximum temperature measured was 423C at about 370W. I'm going to rework the case and replace the IEC connector. I will make the case more ergonomic, too. The corresponding beep with button presses is louder than I'm comfortable with, so will do something with that, too. I don't do a lot of SMD soldering, otherwise I would be going for a better hot air wand, so will live with the slow heat up and cool down times. There's nothing I can do with the I'm please with the super fast delivery, receiving the unit after 3 days. Delivery was from their Australian warehouse to Sydney.

I'm quite pleased with the controller. It works as described and was delivered in 3 days. Prior to ordering the controller, I considered designing my own device, but elected to go with this device as it had all I needed off the shelf. I've now had a look at the controller and have a few concerns, but overall my conclusions have not changed. 1. The display shows the output voltage, but will only reduce to the adjusted voltage when there is a load connected. In other words, the display will show maximum voltage 240V (in Aus), even when you adjusted the dial half way. Once the load is attached/switched on, the dialled in voltage is shown. 2. Another concern is the power socket. It can accommodate multiple foreign and Australian power plugs. I've tried the Australian plug and found that the fit is a bit dodgy. I fear in time that this power socket will be a failure point. 3. The power switch lacks a precise click, instead it moves a bit to a light touch. Whilst the noted problems can put some people off, I'm still satisfied with the controller, even though I may need to upgrade some of its components over time. I've yet to put the electronics through their paces, but they look reasonable. It's encouraging to see that the incorporated triac can comfortably handle the rated current.
