Q: what is this for just curious

BG541651125 It is basically an 8 way switch that can switch any of the 8 inputs to a common output. The input that is to be used is selected digitally and the signal being switched can be analogue or digital. See data sheet by googling 74HC4051 data sheet.I think it is being sold here for use with Arduinos to allow more than just 3 analogue inputs, but I am thinking of using it to switch my electric guitar signal through different pedal boards.

BG541651125 When I opened my packaging, the jumper for the supply of the LED fell out and I almost missed it. Could this have been what happened in your case and as others have suggested the LED backlight needed a supply?

BG541651125 It is confusing to me as well. I can not see how you could clean it. I can only assume that the sensor blows out the dust it has sucked in. Otherwise do you just throw it away if it fills up with dust?

BG541651125 On the first screen of the PM 2.5, it displays the mass of the particles in micrograms per cubic metre, so if your particle counter per 100mL measures the mass in micrograms per 100mL then you can convert the readings. The display of 1 on your count per 100mL metre would be the same as a count of 1000 on the PM2.5 detector. The second screen displays the numbers of the particles per cubic metre for the different sized particles, I am told by another answer here. So, if that is correct, then a reading of 1 particle in the 100mL instrument would give a reading of 1000 particles on the PM2.5.I would be interested to hear how your PM2.5 compares with your 100mL instrument.

BG541651125 It will measure PM2.5 and interpolate the other sized particles. It will also measure temperature and humidity but it doesn't measure HCHO or CO2.

BG541651125 One screen shows the measurement of the particles in micrograms per cubic metre, the temperature in Celsius, the relative humidity in %, and an air quality index. Then when you select the 2nd screen, you get the number of particles of different sizes ranging from greater than 0.3 microns to greater than 10 microns. However, I note aaardvaark's answer that the device is only actually measuring 2.5 micron sized particles and interpolating all the other measurements. I didn't know this.

BG541651125 The particle sensor inside my detector module is a Plantower PM2.5 , PMS5003, so looking at the Plantower website it seems it only measures particle size and not HCHO or CO2.

Q: Can it work outside the home?

BG541651125 You would need a phone portable power bank battery or similar to power it.
