Love this radio. It's as versatile as the Baofeng. My daily carry. the second radoi came with a short whip antenna, instead of the stiff antenna that came with the first. The only thing I don't like about the radio is the belt clip. It's sometime slips out, and the radio falls. Sound is clear, and some mistake it for a base station

The quality of the leads is what was expected. The crocks, and other assessorys does not fit the leasd supplied.

Love the radio, it has 256 channels. You are also able to charge the radio with the usb c port on the battery. Programming can be done by Bluetooth. The radio is sold under different names, but the best place to get the Bluetooth programming software is www.radtel.com. Reception quality is better than the uv5r. I only dislike the belt clip, and the ppt. Normal handeling of the radio, like removing it from your belt can activate {press} the ppt. The ppt is very sensitive to the touch, and activate easily. Also like that with switch on it shows the battery voltage. Programming from the display is easy, and via Bluetooth with android phone also. I could not find a baofeng, tyt, retivis, qyt programing cable that works with the pc software and radio. The pc software is in Chinese. From what i can see the chipset is on the radio, thus a specific programming cable will be needed. I think this radio will be my daily carry around radio.

Q: Does this radio only have 16 channels, or does it have 16 areas where multiple channels can be programmed. The Uv5r has 128 channels for. Example.

MorneMeintjes Link is in one of the questions. Unfortunately the programming software is in Chinese. My regular programming cables, for Baofeng, TYT, Retivis, ... does not work with this radio. This radio has the coms chipset internal, this its exclude the Boaofeng UV5R programming cable.

MorneMeintjes As far as I can see the radio has its own programming software. I could not find a chirp driver to program the radio

Let's start with the deliver, Aramax is useless and needs prompting at every stage before anything happens. The transreceiver works well. The programming software need some work. When adding a tone, to a channel the software gives an error and closes the software . I programmed the channels with the software and added the tone manually using the mic. The programming cable is the same as for the other qyt mobile radios I have. Software also don't have a import function, and channels needs to be programmed from scratch. .

Q: how to you program it via the "data hole" ? what cable/software etc etc

MorneMeintjes The software as mentioned is on the QYT Web page. Not the best software very buggy. Also don't have a import option, all channels needs to be programmed. Found adding a tone to a channel, gives an error and the software quits. I just programed the tone afterwards with the mic.

The quality of this product is poor. The volume button is loose, and not secured to the frame. Plugged in its hardly audible. Give this item a pass.
