andyb yes the protocols can be updated but you will have too google the new firmware. I'm almost sure it needs a date cable that connects to the circuit boad

mikeeg16 no but they are very reliable. I've been running mine about 6 months now with a 3660 2659kv basher with no problems. you do need to change some of the settings to make it work the way you want to. launch and brakes are set too low from factory.
