Q: Am I missing a couple of components? I've assembled it as per the markings on the PCB, and the instruction PDF, but I appear to have two unused component locations. The first is above the DC input socket, and is marked SW1, and the second is on the top edge, directly above the crystal, and just to the right of the four pin jumper rail. I've installed all the components that came in the kit, but still have these two unoccupied locations. When I plug in the power cable, nothing works.

davejj The switch was missing in my kit too. You do need the switch or nothing happens when you connect power.

Tezza The shank diameters are given in the chart, and are as follows:- 4mm for the 2mm, 3mm and 4mm end mills 6mm for the 5mm and 6mm end mills 8mm for the 8mm end mill 10mm for the 10mm end mill 12mm for the 12mm end mill.

Just received it and it works great. I too got the brass burner, which I prefer to the glass one. Isn't as tall as I expected, but still really nice. Well made, and will make a good conversation piece.

Didn't come with an adaptor, to convert to the UK 3 pin system, so had to source one locally. Drill itself seems pretty good, with around 1/2 thou runnout at the chuck. Despite what it says in the description, the speed doesn't go all the way down to zero. Tried a few test cuts in wood, and it's fine at a moderate speed, but lacking torque at low speed. Should be OK for the fine work I bought it for.
