Q: Just received item, inserted 2 new AAA batteries, will not turn on no matter what I have tried.

BG525341453 If alcaline batteries are used, they should be inserted as seen on the picture, not according to the - indication. However, one leaves a void that way, so you could use some aluminum foil rolled in a small ball to make the conection. Hope this helps...
