It is a relatively difficult puzzle to solve, having to deal with the Chinese characters in manuals and the app in order to make it connect to the WiFi and then program it to actually do something. But in the end, it will work, as long as you have set the region you reside as Mainland China. The app is half in Chinese, though. I managed to make it do what I wanted, that is to control my Samsung A/C unit and create some daily automation routine. I guess it won't be difficult to have it operate the TV set, too (useful to have it turn it on for some periods of time when you're away to make thieves think that the house is occupied). I have no TV, so it won't do the job for me.
