It works good for the price, but you need to install a driver, so it doesn't work by default. The chip is an AX88179 so search on google for the driver for this chip

Very happy with this addapter. Easy installation for windows 8.1: after few minutes search I downloaded the corresponding driver.

Bought this to use on an Intel NUC (no ethernet). Plugged in and the system detected it straight away - no driver needed. Been using it now for about 3 weeks without issue
