im just use it to read the soil with wemos (arduino with WiFi) and it works very good. i read the data over i2c and power it up with 3v

Works well as temperature and moisture sensor and stable with instructions from https://wemakethings.net/chirp/. The only downside is that the battery slot got rusty after months of use. I will wrap electrical part with plastic film next time.

I waited until my soil was the driest I want it to get. Insert battery and buried in soil. Push button and wait. Then wait some more. It will be beeping warning you soil is too dry. Then I watered the soil and beeping stopped. A few days later I pulled it out to test and waited about 5 minutes and it started beeping. I put it back in and it stopped. In a week I hope it will respond the same in the soil.
