This is a neat energy monitoring unit. I use it as part of my home energy monitoring. system. This is a useful energy monitoring module, but I'm always nervous about working with mains and legally I have to use a registered electrician for mains work. However, electricians are not always good with electronics, :( The solution is to keep all the mains stuff in a project box managed by the electrician and use a micro-controller to poll the module and transmit the data wirelessly to another MCU. An esp8266 is a good fit here. There's a useful discussion at https://esppromon.com/t/connecting-a-peacefair-pzem-004t-to-an-espressif-esp8266/72 As an alternative to an ESP8286, you could use a simple MCU, such as an ATTINY85 or NANO, with a NRF24 L01. By the way, I'd strongly recommend using a level shifter between the (5V) PZEM-004T TTL serial and the (3.3V) ESP86 I/O ports.
