One hell-of-a light. But first let me clarify what you actually get compared to what is described. First of all, this light is not "waterproof". It cannot be submerged in water. It is however, "weatherproof". It is well protected from rain, sleet, snow, wind & sun but, you won't do any scuba or snorkel diving with it. Secondly, and this is nitpicking, it does have a high, medium & low light output but does not project the SOS Code, it is a rapid flashing which even at several kilometers distance would certainly attract someone's attention. Thirdly, the rear red light has 3 settings instead of 2. High, low & rapid flashing. There really isn't much difference in the high, medium & low settings. As for the light's function, it is BRIGHT. I almost think it is brighter than my car's headlight. At night I lit up street signs 300M away! Usable lighting while riding a bike is a good 40M. Using USB charging is a big plus instead of having a separate charging device. I purchased this primarily for arm's length maintenance I do at house rentals & I wish the low light setting was much lower. At this close a range the low setting is still overwhelming. I found taping a tissue over the lens dims the light enough for close range use. Overall, this is one serious portable light source, well worth the price. Time will tell just how robust it turns out to be. Richard
