It does electrocute the mosquitos but it the electricity is too gentle with them and it takes its time to kill them, I would prefer the shock to be aggressive to kill them immediately. OTOH, the mosquitos in my area already know this device and they avoid flying near it, I would had liked if I could place a bait inside to lure them. At the end I decided to put the lamp above of my head when I'm sleeping, not what I expected, but at least the mosquitos don't bite me anymore 😅
