Good lamp for the price. Nice that you can use AAA or rechargeable ni-mh batteries. It will switch the modes everytime you turn it off and on again. It will always start in low mode (but only if it was off for about 50 seconds -yes i measured it-, otherwise it will change to the next higher mode). The on and off switch is kind of a worry. You need to tighten the front to turn it on. So while being off the front is kind of loose. If you transport it on your keys or bagpack it might turn itself on without noticing. Maybe it might lose completely over time and open itself and you lose it. Maybe the other way would've be better ( loosen the front turns it on) but that would have meant more technical effort.
