I was just about to write a good review for this battery and the next day it crapped out. After a month of heavy and moderate usage I thought it was performing pretty well. I'm working in a commercial fabrication company, loads of drilling, impact drivers... Then I've noticed that the Makita battery charger suddenly not charging it anymore and is flagged as faulty. So my summary is not a good battery, I didn't not take it apart so I don't know exactly what kind of cells are inside. Don't buy these.
