This because the material is very brittle. So when using a screw to fix them, take care to tighten the screw gently. The holding force to a steel plate is around 700-800 gram.

Great magnets and the countersunk holes make it really easy to bolt them to something. Just be careful not to overtighten or the magnet will crack.
