I've bought these to control my bathroom climate. The TH16 picks up the humidity and temperature, and at the same time controls the vapor extract fan based on humidity. The Sonoff Basic is remotely controlled by the TH16's sensor readings based on temperature and humidity. There is no need to make a wired connection between the sensor device and the actor device. All of this has been achiveved by using the factory software eWeLink, but eventaully with custom firmware you could integrate the whole system into a larger system like openHAB. Cheap, good, very happy!
