Fantastic quality board for a fantastic price. I already had the CH340 USB driver installed for a different board so the NodeMCU worked right away with Arduino IDE. There are 3 main ways to use this: - Program it using Lua, I believe the firmware it comes with supports this although I didn't try it. - Write code for it in Arduino IDE (C++). This is the most flexible and highest-performance option, and gives you access to extensive libraries available in Arduino IDE with one button click. Environment is very similar to coding for Arduino. - Use it as a "dumb" WiFi peripheral with AT commands sent over the serial port from another CPU (Hayes modem style). The firmware you need to load for this is fairly easily found on the web. Note that it's wider than some other NodeMCU boards so it doesn't leave any connection points available beside it when on a standard project board, but this is easily solved using some non-stranded hookup wire connected underneath.

One star removed because I had to add a component to make it work. The 8051 microcontroller was shutting down on every attempt to weld. I added a 470 uF capacitor across the 5V power rail supplied by regulator U1. Battery voltage was steady enough and not the main cause of this problem. Probably other capacitor values would work but I have not tested. If your board is shutting down (LED turns off) then try adding a capacitor as shown in my pic. This is on the newer rev of the board with opto-isolator (fat 4-pin chip).

These connectors are ok for the price but not as good quality as ones marked Amass. The metal parts fit fine but the plastic shells fit together a bit loosely. Plastic finish quality is fair, on some of the connectors I had to pull off manufacturing debris / excess plastic. Some of the metal pins were rotated from their normal orientation, some became easy to turn after soldering. Inclusion of heat shrink that's exactly the right size is nice, it seems a bit thin.

Good for the price, wires are a bit thin but I'm using two of these as-is to connect two 18650s to my charger, may replace the wires later.

These antennas really work, no nonsense, fairly easy to connect 2 of them to my Flysky transmitter. Range is improved by 33%. Any antenna with more gain will be more directional so be sure to aim them horizontally at your aircraft, don't point the tip.

As spinners these are not mechanically the best, fairly noisy bearings. However the display and synchronization of messages as it spins is excellent. Overall great for the price. I recommend the PC software which works quite well but the user interface is a bit odd. Georgie I bought this ESC and ran it on 3S successfully, although the battery was not fully charged (about 11.5V). One commenter also mentions 3S works. It's cheap enough, try it and it will probably work on 3S for you. It has a BEC as well to run your receiver if needed, and you can turn the braking function on/off, which I needed to implement tank-style steering. Overall a great ESC!

Great little quad, flies well on 2S, 3S, and 4S. Note the current official iNav version (2.2) does NOT work on Tyro79 but I raised an issue on Github and the lead iNav developer put in a fix that should be in the 2.3 release (MATEK411 target). If you look up the issue on Github you can find a link to a test build that works now: https://github.com/iNavFlight/inav/issues/4863 If using iNav reduce your PIDs, especially yaw 'P' value which needs to be reduced to around 40 or you might get horrible vibrations. Reduce yaw 'I' value proportionally. Also reduce pitch/roll PIDs to about 40% of the defaults.

Works well after some experimenting with the primary coil wire. If led 2 lights up (power) but led 1 doesn't don't give up, check your coil connections and reposition the primary coil wire. You should glue down the secondary coil (L2) and use only one turn (maybe 1.5 or 2) of the primary coil wire (L1) near the bottom (but not so low that it's below the secondary windings). Try both winding directions to see what works best. Before soldering the fine secondary coil wire carefully scrape the enamel off the very end with a small piece of folded sandpaper. I cut the primary coil wire leaving just a short piece long enough for one turn but then it didn't work as well (oscillations mostly stopped), went back to the longer piece of wire. So don't cut, bunch up the extra wire and leave it hanging to the side. With an old 15V laptop power supply I get about 5 mm of spark and the neon bulb lights up 8 cm away (3 - 4 inches). Only run it for about a minute at a time because one of the transistors gets very hot.

Havent got working as yet - you need 5v, 3 amp power supply - some perhaps some 18650 batteries in parallel?

Georgie For Flysky I recommend Flit10 mini receiver and iBus control. Flit10 is available on this site.
