Happy to have the Darwin Baby Ape II, flies excellent in acro mode with 4s battery 850 mah maybe a bit heavy for it. Im sure it will tear around better with a 650 or 720 mah battery.

Blown away by this awesome rc 4x4! The Flyhal FC610 is the 3s champion of the 12 scale models I have. Yes that is right it handles 3s power no problem, and the center differential improves the handling making this a great choice for newbies or experienced hobbyists. The Reign of the Hosim 9125 has come to an end. Nice design Flyhal!

The Baby Ape is a fantastic fun flying sub 250 grams drone, great for beginners and intermediate fliers. A terrific value, I docked it one star because I haven't been able to get a good response to its stock settings. Better product support is a must. When you bind a drone all you need to know to get going right away is the stock setting for the radio transmitter channels however many the quad utilizes, 5 to 8, it is difficult to find a direct answer. Regardless I highly recommend this drone even though I haven't been able to get mine into acro mode, still a trail blazer. Fast and responsive in angle mode.

Well, I had a tough time assembling the DIY drone, I have soldered 16 x 16 esc and flight controlles that seemed to have more space. In the end I managed to get it to arm, but flight is spastic and uncontrollable, issues need to be examined in beta flight.

Q: Channel 5 is the arm switch. What are the other 3? Are they simple 2 way switches or is a 3 way neccessary?

Q: Maiden flight completed, Flies very nicely. I did have trouble as it would not fly acro. what switch does this? I set up 8 channels, Arm works fine but the other 3 seem to do nothing?

AncoW Connect your quad usb to the pc. Install and start betaflight configurator. Check receiver and modes tabs. Full mapping not setup yet?

Q: I have bound the quad sucessfully but need to know the Radio Control Mixer settings to arm it. Can someone let me know what 5-8 are? I have bound it in Frsky.

cookingandpie use should download the free software Betaflight and install it on your PC - and run it. then connect the quad to the PC with a USB cable. then you will see various options regarding setting up your quad the way you want it - including selecting which aux channels will be activated by which switch on your controller. usually channel 5 (or aux 1 is set aside for arming disarming your quad)

wow! What a great car! It arrived with minor kinks in the shell as the box suffered in shipping. After opening I created an skirt for undercarrage out of packing tape as the body doesnt cover the electronics very well and I figured they could use some protection. This car flies on 3S handles great! Once I reinforce the body I will try 4S!
