On my previous phone I accidentally tugged on the charging lead and damaged the USB port. This is a great solution to that problem as the magnetic link, while strong enough for charging, will disconnect if tugged without any damage. Also the end of the sure glows to let you know you are connected at the charger end and it makes it easy to connect quickly and trouble free in the dark. USB C is easier to connect than USB B but this is easier still.
