Used it on two 20-year-old direct AC soldering irons. Here are a few pointers: 1) Sand smooth the tips. It doesn't really matter that you take away the coating this product will re-coat the tip with tin. 2) Get your cleaned iron tip nice and hot I used it on a 25 watt and 60 watt iron the 60W iron produced a better result. 3) Keep working area ventilated with a fan blowing any fumes well away from you. The product consist of Ammonia Phosphate and Tin powder so the fumes do stink a little.
