Projector is powerful enough to work in slightly lit enviroment, but if you turn on the lights or try to use it during day you wont see anything on screen. It's completely normal for a cheap projector though. Projection itself suffers from a bad color reproduction - black is always just grey, tan is brighter grey and so on.
