It comes folded in plastic bags. the folds cause permanent creases, that I could not get out. They are supposed to be machine washable, however when I washed one (in cold water on a gentle cycle) it all but fell apart. The backing got all fuzzy and pilled, and the creases were still there. One of three that I bought had the bag that it came in sealed to the background material itself, rendering it trash.
