These sensors are very popular in bedside lamps and similar appliances. They are very useful and usually last for a very long time. Unfortunately a friend of mine replaced the lamp with one of a higher wattage. This overloaded the circuit and caused a failure of the original and is the reason why I ordered these dimmers. They are a perfect replacement for the original. I just hope my friend fits bulbs of the right rating in future.
