This controller works fine, flashed to NodeMCU and using some i2c sensors, like am2321, bmp180, programming in lua. Pls note that the pull-up resistors are active - maybe just in the devices i have purchased, because I had no need to use some external resistors for i2c. If it will be not the case, you need to use 2x4.7k to pull up. I use GPIO4 for sda and GPIO5 for clock. If you want to use ds18b20 sensors, I do reccoment to connect to GPIO0, with a pull up 4.7k, after fleshing.
